Pride Party goes DeLux

We are excited to announce that Lisa Delux will be the headline DJ at this year's Pride Dance Party.

For the past 8 years she has developed a solid fan base throughout north America and beyond. Well known for her high energy party rockin' sets, Lisa captures dance floors with her original remixes, live mashups and innovative styles.

Lisa has made a name for herself in Vancouver, holding down several residencies and spinning at some of Vancouver's hottest nightclubs. We can't wait for her to bring her unique style and energy to Kelowna!

This dance will also be our first at the Coast Capri Hotel, and will feature multiple DJs, multiple bars, and top-notch lighting!

It promises to be the biggest LGBT dance Kelowna has seen! Spread the word and invite your friends! THIS IS AN ALL AGES EVENT!

Canada Celebrates 5 years of Gay Marriage

While many of our gay friends south of the border fight for same-sex marriage, employment non-discrimination and the right to serve in the military, today marks five years of Canada-wide, gay marriage. Canada's federal same-sex marriage bill received Royal Assent on July 20, 2005.

Here's to five years of gay marrying in Canada — and five years of time spent since then focussing on other queer issues.

Argentina Approves Gay Marriage!

Argentina’s Senate narrowly approved a law early on Thursday authorizing same-sex marriages, making Argentina the first country in Latin America to allow gay couples to wed.

Portugal and Iceland also legalized gay marriage this year, adding to the small but steadily expanding list of nations, most of them in Europe, to do so.

But in a region where the separation of church and state is not always so clear, the law demonstrated a rare but increasing willingness by some Latin American nations to confront the church on fundamental issues, like Chile’s legalization of divorce and Brazil’s public distribution of contraceptives in recent years.
